People struggle to understand the risk of disease outbreak facilitated by displacement, migration and staying in IDP camps and host communities. Data and information on these risks are routinely gathered and made available by intelligence and humanitarian workers who have a forum where regular meetings are held in States of the North East Zone. Information sharing on state of IDP camps and host communities, status of communicable diseases, risk of attack from insurgents and available resources and gaps in IDP camp management are some of the key discussion points in such meetings. Our communities have an explanation for any circumstances including risks that befalls them; risk mitigation interventions often clash with these explanations driven by beliefs which often vary among communities.
