The risk people face is decriminalisation of sex work, acceptance of labour rights for sex workers, safe working environments. Because of stigma and discrimination, the general population but also Sex Work community struggle to understand the need of decriminalisation. Lack of knowledge and awareness of sex work are some of the reasons why people do not understand the difference between legalisation and decriminalisation of Sex Work. Data is available, but mainstream narrative is different. Not making clear distinction between human trafficking and sex work makes the general public to see sex workers only as victims even when they choose sex work as their work.
