Co-Founder and Director – InteGRAL: Intersectional Gender Research Advocacy and Learning

Gender disaggregated data is not easily available in India. When you look at how many men and how many women use airports in India, for example, there is hardly any data. This matters because it has direct consequences on facilities, staffing, security: how many toilets are needed for all women visitors to serve them adequately, how many security check personnel are needed for segregated security check lines, etc. It also impacts how the needs of gender diverse people are serviced. Without the data or access to it, we just don’t know.
