It’s easy to see why the person in front of us is not listening when you speak of micrograms of NO2 or particulate matter 10µg/m3. We lose like 70% of the target group if you talk like that. Using data also makes us sound like an expert and then people feel lectured to! People can become overwhelmed with data. But if we talk about asthma, cancer, or Parkinson’s disease, then we gain back their interest. It’s more real and more concerning.
