Many communities In Puerto Rico have suffered a lot in the last ten year. We have had earthquakes and hurricanes and many knock-on problems. But this meant that communities came together because there was nothing else. So, when COVID hit, there were strong networks and community leaders that were already existing in these communities and had earned their trust. To build on this from the beginning we worked to share everything we knew about COVID in a transparent manner and always acknowledging the uncertainties. We wanted to not only give people instructions to follow but practical information and tools to evaluate their risks, so that they had the ability to understand the risks and make decisions.
